Coach McCreary, I love this as well! My son is 12. The importance of throwing and catching is huge!

Great thoughts coaches! I really love what Kevin said about being patient and positive! Doug, great point about competing and battling! Phill, that is so true about waiting for the players to come to you, once they struggle they come and ask for help. I also believe that listening to the player and asking questions is an important key as well. I like how all of these perspectives are going to help others.

Using the 7F’s, 3D’s, 3R’s and 2P’s it helps with players having a set word for each progression of infield drills and movements. Also, incorporating a progressive pregame and pre-practice throwing program that will incorporate every possible catch, throw and footwork that will be used in a game. It can also have a certain pace to each throw ( fast, average, or slow runner) so that the infielder is ready for any type of play when the game starts.

Great point coaches! We need to meet the player where they are at. Getting to know them by asking questions and listening and then figure out what works to help them move forward. We need to love them!
